While at CSU, Dr. Trotter’s research interests were in the area of joint disease in horses, and he co-edited a textbook on that subject ( McIlwraith CW, Trotter GW, eds. Joint Disease in the Horse. Philadelphia,WB Saunders Co, 1996). Referring veterinarians and clients often asked for his opinion on joint-health products. He discovered that many products focused on certain aspects of cartilage health, but none were comprehensive in their approach. He ultimately decided to develop a product that included a more broad spectrum approach to prevention of ‘sore joints’, so that soft tissue inflammation was addressed, as were more of the components unique to articular cartilage. His goal was to develop a product that could ‘stand alone’ as a comprehensive joint health supplement. The resulting product was Myristol.

Dr. Trotter and his wife Judi moved to Weatherford, Texas in 2004, where he continues to practice part time and to raise and ride cutting horses. Judi is a retired Clinical Therapist, who is very actively involved in promotion and further development of Myristol.
